Unlike traditional nail salons, we focus exclusively on natural nails, working with premium brands that prioritize quality and care. The studio is designed to be a clean, hygienic, and welcoming retreat—where every appointment is an experience in self-care.

Prescriptive Manicures
Not all nails and lifestyles are the same so a one-size-fits-all won't work. With prescriptive manicures we focus on a personalized approach by choosing the right products and techniques to promote healthy nail growth, preventing breakage and brittleness. We consider relevant medical history, sensitivities/allergies, lifestyle, nail type and conditions together before we even start your manicure. During our appointment we will use oils and serums to boost what your nails and skin require. We choose the gel product type that suits your situation best. Whether you need more strength, better adhesion, flexibility and/or we need to choose products that are free of certain ingredients - it's all done to make your manicure last beautifully. Ultimately we finish with tailored cuticle oil and a relaxing hand massage.

Your expression and health are our top priorities. The Little Canvas follows strict hygiene protocols, ensuring a clean and relaxing environment. Every tool is disinfected after every service or single use only. Premium products are used to maintain and enhance the health of your natural nails. We don't work with e-files.
We have carefully selected the best brands in the industry through experience and research—luxurious, high-performance products that align with my commitment to quality and care. The vast majority of our products are hypoallergenic. We offer a prescription-based manicure, a gentle hand file soak-off and manicure combined with tailored gel products. Our Ethos line of Vitamin Doses, serums and cuticle oils ensure that your nails are nurtured while you wear your polish. Yes, it can be that good.

Founder
Nikkie Koch
After working for a large corporate for almost a decade, I fell out of love with the corporate life and wanted to be more independent and creative. Combining the joy I get from working with clients and my hobby of doing nails since I was 15, a job coach ultimately came with the wild suggestion of starting my own nail salon. Starting my career switch at an art focused salon in Amsterdam called Lakwerk I worked there for 4 years whilst educating new nail techs, alongside specializing myself in nail health. My move with my family to Haarlem in 2024 triggered my desire to start my own salon here! I’m so excited and looking forward to meeting you.
I would describe my art style as feminine with a tough edge. I love anything organic or floral, clean looking. Bringing a special occasion or theme to life via nail art so you can boost your special moment. Myself I switch sets from a clean treatment with colour to various degrees of art. Whatever I feel like wearing at the moment.

Fun fact​
One of my more random hobbies is true crime, so it’s exciting for me that The Little Canvas is based in De Koepel!
NAIL ARTIST
Margot Mok
Born and raised in Haarlem, I’ve always had a strong connection to creativity and aesthetics. With a background in both the creative and beauty industries, I found the perfect intersection of these worlds in nails. Over the past three years, I’ve honed my skills as a nail technician at Lakwerk, one of Amsterdam’s leading salons known for its bold and artistic approach.
What I love most about this profession is the variety: from the elegance of a single color to the playfulness of elaborate nail art. Each set tells its own story. But it’s the personal aspect of this work that makes it truly fulfilling—having meaningful conversations, creating a moment of calm, and seeing someone leave just a little more confident and happy than when they arrived.
My style is best described as colorful and eclectic. I draw inspiration from all corners of design, with a particular love for interior design. I'm so looking forward to bringing your ideas to life, and maybe even surprising you with something new!
Fun fact​
Outside the salon, you’ll often find me treasure-hunting through vintage stores for unique furniture pieces or browsing design books with a cup of coffee in hand.
